Celebrating the Season in Limón
This week, our hardworking staff in Limon took a well-deserved break to celebrate the Christmas holiday together. Over a delicious lunch at La Cabaña, a festive basket of apples and grapes, and plenty of laughter, they enjoyed a moment to reflect on the year.
Our dedicated Honduran team works tirelessly year-round to support the mission. Whether it’s managing telemedicine and medical referrals, maintaining facilities and vehicles, or organizing and purging files, their efforts ensure everything runs smoothly—even when mission teams aren’t on-site.
We are deeply grateful for their hard work and commitment, and we’re thrilled to support them as they take time to celebrate together. Thank you for helping make moments like these possible for the team that keeps our mission going strong!
A Special Christmas Gift
“I think I am as relieved as their parents when a child’s test results come out good!” shared Gladis, our dedicated team member at the Medical Referral Program.
Recently, Edgard, a little boy with a concerning heart murmur, was referred to a pediatric cardiologist. His young parents, deeply worried about his health, turned to the program for help.
Gladis provided the family with bus fare to cover the journey to the specialist, ensuring they could make the trip. As part of the process, Edgard’s mother signed an agreement to use the funds solely for travel expenses.
After a full day of tests and examinations, they received incredible news: Edgard’s heart murmur was not a cause for concern and would resolve on its own as he grew.
For Edgard’s parents, this was the best Christmas gift they could have asked for—peace of mind and the reassurance that their only child was healthy.
