5 Great Things – October 2024

Grateful for Safety Amid the Storms

Back-to-back hurricanes have left a path of devastation across many areas, impacting countless lives from Florida to North Carolina. The damage and frustration are significant for many of our friends and communities.

But we have some good news—while our teammates were affected, none have experienced significant damage. We’re relieved to report that they and their families are all safe and healthy. Though some homes may require repairs, they remain livable.

Let’s continue to keep those who suffered greater losses in our thoughts and prayers. We are deeply grateful that our team members are safe and sound.

Helping Fellow Mission Teams

Mission teams from churches and organizations across the globe are constantly serving communities throughout Honduras, and it’s always a joy to meet and support them in their work.

Recently, a team from Florida reached out to Roger for guidance on submitting their ARSA forms, and he was more than happy to assist. He even had the chance to visit their team near La Ceiba for a day, offering help with some interpreting while they served the local community.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who shares their time, talent, and resources to make a difference in Honduras. The more we can connect and communicate with these teams, the more we can coordinate our efforts. And with better coordination, we can provide even better care for all patients in need.

Telemedicine: Bridging the Gap and Strengthening Care

Waiting for help with a health issue is never easy. That’s why telemedicine continues to play such a crucial role, connecting patients with care even when mission teams aren’t in the country. But it’s doing so much more than that!

Telemedicine not only bridges the gap in care, but also creates valuable opportunities for our staff in Honduras to continue working and earning additional income. It fosters partnerships with companies and maintains vital connections with healthcare providers.

We’re incredibly grateful for your ongoing support of our telemedicine program. Together, we’re making healthcare more accessible and ensuring continuous care for those in need. We look forward to growing and expanding this important work!

A Heartfelt Thanks to Our Clergy Partners

We are deeply grateful for the clergy members who work tirelessly to support our mission. Both in the U.S. and Honduras, our clergy partners uplift the mission through prayer, offer a compassionate ear, and extend a helping hand. Their dedication is invaluable, and we couldn’t do this work without them!

Today, we encourage you to take a few minutes to send a thank-you note to your pastor. A small gesture of appreciation will mean the world to them.

Walking Together for a Healthy Honduras

On October 5th, supporters from all over the country came together for our Walk for a Healthy Honduras. Every step taken on the Path to Hope moved us closer to providing quality, continuous care for patients in Honduras.

This was our second annual walk, and we’re grateful for the lessons learned along the way. We’re excited about the future and look forward to growing this event into an annual tradition across the U.S. to support the mission we hold so dear.

We felt the power of every prayer and message of support, and we can’t wait to make the 2025 walk even bigger and better!
