These words from Hazmer reflect a decade-long journey of healing and hope that you made possible. In 2014, Hazmer was a 6-year-old boy who loved soccer but struggled to keep up with his friends. Easily winded and fatigued, it was clear something wasn’t right. When a heart murmur was detected at a mission clinic, doctors quickly discovered a ventral septal defect—a condition requiring specialized care and multiple surgeries.
Thanks to your generous support of our medical referral program, Hazmer received the consultations and life-saving surgery he needed in 2014. The procedure gave him a patch to help his heart function as he grew, but his journey was far from over. Over the next 10 years, your continued financial support ensured Hazmer could attend follow-up appointments and receive the necessary care to thrive.
This year, you were there again when Hazmer underwent his second surgery—the final step to fully heal his heart. Now, at 16, he is completely healthy and ready to live life to the fullest.
His mother, Marina, recently shared her heartfelt gratitude: “I thank all the people who helped us with such good hearts. I am grateful for everything they’ve done, and thanks to the Lord, my son’s heart is now perfectly fine—100% whole, and he’s doing excellent.”
