Sacred Connections: The Pulse of the Community

Lift Up the Word – Lift up the World

When you pray, He listens.

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think”

Ephesians 3:20

As we have stepped into this new year, we are filled with gratitude for all that God has done through this mission and for each of you who have faithfully supported us with your prayers, encouragement, and generosity.

2025 is full of new opportunities to serve and bring healing to those in need in Honduras. We’re excited to continue providing medical care, sharing God’s love, and building lasting relationships in the communities we serve.

As we end the first month of the year, please pray with us:

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with heavy hearts, grieving for the tragedies that have struck our nation in this past month. You alone know the depth of sorrow felt by those who have lost loved ones, the pain of those who are suffering other losses, and the fear that lingers in many hearts. We ask for Your mercy, Your healing, and Your comfort to be poured out upon all who are hurting.

Lord, in this time of uncertainty and grief, we seek Your protection over our nation, Honduras and the world. Shield us from further harm, guide our leaders with wisdom and compassion, and unite us in love and strength. Bring peace where there is turmoil, hope where there is despair, and faith where there is doubt.

We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect plan, even when we do not understand. Help us to be lights in the darkness, showing kindness, love, and resilience. May we turn to You for strength and trust that You are always with us.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

In February, Please Also Pray With Us For….

Praise God for Helpers

The first medical mission team departed for Honduras on January 25th, and their journey has been an adventure! Despite facing flight delays, first-team challenges, heavy rain, and extremely muddy roads, they’ve persevered with the help of their Honduran friends. Together, they’ve managed to navigate every sticky situation—literally!

We ask for your prayers:

  • Please pray for the safe return of this team as they prepare to leave Honduras on February 2nd and travel back to the U.S.
  • Lift up the upcoming teams in prayer as they continue this vital mission. The Morgan/Painter Team departs for Honduras on February 7th, followed by the Norman/Altman Team on February 21st.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer and support. Together, we will continue to make a lasting impact.

We ask for your prayers for…

  • Guidance: Pray for God’s wisdom and direction as we plan and carry out our mission trips.
  • Health and Safety: Pray for the health and protection of our team members, volunteers, and the people we serve.
  • Adequate Funding: Pray for the financial resources needed to sustain and expand the mission, ensuring we can continue meeting the medical and spiritual needs of those we serve.
  • Impact: Pray that every effort will glorify God and bring hope and healing to the Honduran communities.
  • Strength and Unity: Pray for the team’s strength and unity as we navigate challenges and work together.

Your prayers and support make it possible for us to shine the light of Christ in Honduras. Let’s walk together in faith this year, trusting that God will do immeasurably more than we can imagine.

St. John’s Methodist Church in Aiken, SC, will host its Mission Impact Celebration from February 5–9, and we’re honored to be part of it! Our board president, Joel Edwards, and executive director, Christine Mitchell, will be attending this special event.

This exciting week is designed to help the congregation learn more about the missions the church supports and celebrate the positive impact their generosity makes possible.

The theme this year, “Be His Feet,” is inspired by Romans 10:14–15: “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’”

The week will feature a variety of activities, including children’s events, small groups, dinners, and even a family international game night.

Please join us in praying for:

– Safe travels for all the mission partners attending.

– A fruitful week filled with inspiration and encouragement.

– Meaningful fellowship as we come together to celebrate the impact of missions.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we share God’s love around the world!

In 2020, we lost our beloved Dr. Eduardo Dubon to COVID-19, leaving a profound void in our mission and the lives of many who knew and loved him. To honor his legacy and passion for serving others, we established the Eduardo Dubon Memorial Scholarship to support Honduran medical students in pursuing their education.

Since its inception in 2021, three students have received this scholarship. These future medical professionals are working hard to complete their studies and carry on the mission of bringing healing and hope to the people of Honduras.

We ask for your continued prayers for these students as they navigate their education and prepare to serve their communities. Dr. Dubon’s legacy lives on through them, and we are grateful for the impact they will make in his memory.

A Special Thank You from Eduardo Dubon’s Family:

I thank you very much. It is an honor and fills [our family] with joy to see that these men have taken advantage of this beautiful gift. The Lord’s peace be with you, thank you for keeping alive the memory of our hero. Many blessings.

Respectfully,
Edder Dubon

Please pray for our CHHF Committees. We are currently working on developing a Young Professionals board to begin training the next generation of leaders for the mission.

Please pray for our medical mission friends throughout the world. Any specifics and talk about the importance of partnerships.

Continue to pray for the safely and health of our friends in Honduras and in the United States.

Thank you for faithfully supporting CHHF.

Friendship isn’t about who you have known the longest. It’s about who has walked into your life and said, “I’m here for you” and then stuck around to prove it.
