WUMC – CHHF MISSION PARTNERSHIP

On a balmy January evening, the fellowship hall at WUMC radiated warmth as mission-minded individuals gathered in support of the church’s covenant with the Carolina Honduras Health Foundation (CHHF). Amidst shared meals and heartfelt conversations, over 100 congregants immersed themselves in understanding WUMC’s impactful role in delivering healthcare to underserved regions of Honduras. Executive Director Christine Mitchell and Honduran Director David Kelly illuminated the transformative work spearheaded by WUMC through this vital partnership, weaving compelling narratives of life-changing medical interventions.

Through the WUMC-CHHF Covenant, a steadfast alliance is forged to deliver essential medical services in Honduras’ Department of Colon. Annually, WUMC dispatches medical teams to the region, with Terri Morgan and Sandy van Leliveld leading missions in March and July, respectively. Complementing these in-person endeavors, regular Telemedicine clinics with doctors around the US ensure sustained care during periods when physical teams are absent.

Building on past successes, WUMC’s Global Outreach initiatives have fostered Covenant partnerships with Abukloi in South Sudan and Hope in the Mountains in West Virginia. These collaborations, alongside over 100 other ministry endeavors, reflect WUMC’s commitment to advancing God’s Kingdom locally and globally.
